We need not only better government, but good government, at all levels. And of course a lot of bad government is the result of policies that most people did not vote for, and to be honest, a lot of civil servants hate too. Because a lot of it is the result of corruption, of the donor class buying politicians. David Pepper’s book, Laboratories of Autocracy, is very good on this. Worth a read. Run for something?

I’ve been waiting 20 years to have our road paved…maybe this is the year…
I pay my fair share and the county tells me every year our road is getting paved…its still a dirt road.
